New student housing planned on WMU campus

For the first time since 1965, Western Michigan University plans to build new student housing on campus. University officials say the first phase of the project will begin construction this summer. The four-building complex on Knollwood Avenue will house more than 300 students when it opens in fall 2011. Two more buildings could be added later. Western officials say the new apartments will be tailored to the needs of juniors and seniors.
