WMU event explores similarities between Islam and other faiths

People of different religions will have an opportunity to learn more about each other in Kalamazoo this week. The event is co-sponsored by the Muslim Student Association at Western Michigan University in cooperation with the university's Arab Student Association. It will include a multi-cultural exhibit and buffet dinner as well as a guest speaker.

MSA vice-president Ngeyan Almutairi says the event will focus on similarities between Islam, Christianity and Judaism. He says most of those expected to attend are not Muslims.

The event is free but those who plan to attend must pre-register by Wednesday, February 17th, at the MSA Web page.

The dinner starts Friday, February 19th, at 5:30 p.m. in the East Ballroom at the Bernhard Center on Western's main campus.
