Battle Creek Commission considers regulations on Medical Marijuana related businesses

The city of Battle Creek, is trying to decide what regulations are needed for businesses related to Medical Marijuana. State voters approved a law in 2008 that allows the use of marijuana for medicinal purposes. The city currently has a six month moratorium on new businesses related to medical marijuana that started in July.

Battle Creek City Commissioners also have to fill a vacancy of their own because of Ryan Hersha's resignation earlier this month. Thursday was the deadline for people to apply to fill that seat.

Battle Creek Enquirer reporter Barrett Newkirk spoke with WMUK's Gordon Evans about both of those issues.
