Michigan lawmakers are on summer break as of Friday. They wrapped up work on a series of measures Thursday while controversy erupted over two lawmakers being denied the chance to speak during Thursday’s session. Mlive reports that Democratic Representatives Lisa Brown and Barb Byrum were told they would not be recognized during floor debate on Thursday because of what were called “inappropriate comments” on Wednesday as the legislature considered bills that put new regulations on abortion providers in Michigan.
