Western Michigan University says the transition of the Kalamazoo Center for Medical Studies to its future School of Medicine is complete. According to a news release, the Dean of Western’s future medical school Hal Jensen says 63 full-time KCMS faculty members with experience in teaching and clinical care have been appointed to Western’s School of Medicine.

Jensen also announced two appointments to the med school. William Fales will be Assistant Dean for Clinical Applications and will be responsible for the third and four year medical school curriculum.

Charles Zeller will be the Assistant Dean for Continuing Education, and will be responsible for the medical school’s continuing medical education program.

Western expects to welcome the first class to its new medical school in the Fall of 2014.
