About 30 protestors created a “human oil spill” Wednesday at the state Capitol. Mlive reports the protesters dressed in black sprawled out on the floor of the Capitol Rotunda as part of an effort to call attention to the two year anniversary of the Kalamazoo River oil spill near Marshall. The protestors object to pipeline owner Enbridge’s plans to replace and expand its pipeline through Michigan.

Enbridge responded to the protest saying that replacing the pipeline that burst and resulted in the massive oil spill in 2010 is “the responsible thing to do.”
