The Michigan Department of Natural Resources is concerned about Grass Carp spreading in Southwest Michigan. Mlive/Kalamazoo Gazette reports that a 33 pound grass carp was caught in the Saint Joseph River in Berrien County. Grass carp are considered a species of Asian Carp. The DNR is concerned because they eat beneficial types of plants and destroy native fish habitats.
