Republican U.S. Senate primary candidate Clark Durant says an “upset is in the making”. MLive Kalamazoo reports on a campaign appearance by Durant in Portage Monday morning. Former congressman Pete Hoekstra has been heavily favored to win the GOP nod to challenge Democratic Senator Debbie Stabenow in November. But MLive quotes Durant says saying, “Clearly the gap is closing” despite a poll suggesting that Hoekstra still leads the race by a margin of three-to-one.
