Public Act 4, Michigan’s controversial emergency manager law, has been suspended. The Gongwer News Service reports that the state Board of Canvassers put a question that would repeal the law on the November ballot on Wednesday. That means the statute allowing the state to appoint managers to run troubled cities and school districts is on hold until the election. But state Attorney General Bill Schuette says an older law allowing appointment of managers is now back in effect.
