Lt. Governor Brian Calley is scheduled to stop in Portage Monday morning. He’ll speak during a grand opening ceremony for the new Great Lakes Center for Autism Treatment Research.
The center is run by Residential Opportunities, Incorporated, in partnership with Western Michigan University. The opening ceremony is scheduled to start at 11 o’clock at the Center, 9616 South Portage Road.
The Center’s outpatient program is expected to serve about a hundred children with autism with another 20 staying as residents.
