Lansing State Journal: Senate passes bill to lock up repeat offenders of serious violent crimes

More than three strikes could mean at least 25 years in jail for repeat offenders of serious violent crimes in Michigan. As the Lansing State Journal reports, courts are now required to sentence criminals convicted of three or more such crimes to a minimum of 25 years in prison.

The Michigan Senate approved the measure 32-6 today. Those serious violent crimes include crimes like attempted murder, criminal sexual conduct and kidnapping.
