Michigan Campaign Finance Network: one-sided spending so far in Michigan

election.2012.png

An analysis of campaign finances in Michigan shows U.S. Senator Debbie Stabenow's campaign has dominated the spending on television advertising in her race against former Congressman Pete Hoekstra. The Michigan Campaign Finance Network's analysis finds Stabenow has spent $1.1-million on TV advertising from mid-September through yesterday. The campaign for the incumbent Democrat plans to spend another $4-million. Hokestra's campaign has not bought any time for television advertising so far and the Republican's campaign has no ad buys in place for the final month of the campaign. The Michigan Campaign Finance Network finds most of the television advertising in the Presidential race in Michigan has been bought by groups supporting Republican Presidential nominee Mitt Romney.
