Mlive Kalamazoo: Rise in books checked out of Kalamazoo Public Library

Efforts to boost literacy in the Kalamazoo area seem to be bearing fruit at the Kalamazoo Public Library. Mlive/Kalamazoo Gazette reports that the number of children’s books checked out at the library has jumped 19% in the last year. That increase comes as the Kalamazoo Public Schools and other organizations are promoting books and literacy.
