Judge clears way for demolition of old Tiger Stadium

Tiger Stadium in Detroit will soon fall to the wrecking ball. A Wayne County judge has cleared the way for the demolition of the old ballpark. A fragment of the stadium has stood at the corner of Michigan and Trumbull since last fall. But preservation groups have failed to raise the $32- million needed to save the remaining parts of the old stadium.

Detroit Economic Growth Corporation spokesman Bob Rossbach says it will take about 30 days to tear down what's left of Old Tiger Stadium. Rossbach says there are no new plans for the Old Tiger Stadium site.
