Upgrade to begin soon for Kalamazoo planetarium

The planetarium at the Kalamazoo Valley Museum is about to get a significant upgrade. After Wednesday afternoon's show at 3:00 it will close until mid-September to install a new high-tech projection system. The planetarium's coordinator Eric Schreur says the new Digistar Four will offer color and special effects using a single laser beam that projects images on the entire dome. Kalamazoo Valley Museum's planetarium will re-open on September 19th with free shows all day.
