Detroit News: West Nile Virus epidemic in Michigan

State health officials say Michigan is experiencing an epidemic of West Nile Virus. The Detroit News reports that four people in the state have died from the virus which is transmitted by mosquitoes. The state says there have been 80 reported cases of West Nile Virus this season. Most of those have been in Southeast Michigan. But there have been 23 cases in Kent County and one reported in Allegan County.
