Kalamazoo County Sheriff Richard Fuller says he's looking forward to another four years as sheriff. He defeated Republican challenger Ward Lawrence by more than 12,000 votes. Fuller says he wants to show the community how a newly expended county jail will be able to rehabilitate and well as incarcerate offenders once its open. He also says good progress is being made on consolidating 911 emergency dispatch service in the county.

As for the other Kalamazoo County races, voters re-elected Timothy Snow as county clerk, Mary Balkema as treasurer, and Patricia Crowley as drain commissioner. Democrat Jeffery Getting beat Republican Scott Pierangeli in the race for Kalamazoo County Prosecutor, which was an open seat due to former prosecutor Jeff Fink's retirement.
