Author Rick Bragg in Kalamazoo

The Kalamazoo Public Library's 2009 Reading Together program features the books of Rick Bragg. The Pulitzer Prize winning reporter is the author of three memoirs about his family, set in the foothills of the Appalachian Mountains.

All Over but the Shoutin, Ava's Man, and The Prince of Frogtown tell stories of poverty, faith, cruelty and kindness.

The writer will read from his work April 14 at Kalamazoo Central High School on Drake Road. His presentation will start at 6:30pm in the school's auditorium. Rick Bragg spoke with WMUK's Lorraine Caron about why he finds stories worth telling. More information about Bragg's appearance is available at the KPL website.
