Secretary of State Terri Lynn Land will debut Michigan's new high security driver's license Tuesday. The new license will also double as a passport for North American international travel. Travelers returning to the U.S. from Canada, Mexico, or Caribbean countries will soon need either a passport or a state-issued ID that has more information than the standard driver's license.
The new enhanced state ID will cost $45. The American Civil Liberties Union continues to have concerns about protecting sensitive personal information that's carried on a chip in the enhanced license.
